Frames were basic diamonds, with the engine as a stressed member. Later frames, 1932-on,
became full cradles with additional, bolt-on frame members running beneath the engine. The hubs used taper roller bearings and were laced into 19-inch rims with
3.25in section tyres specified for front and rear. Both brakes were six-inch, single-sided drums for the side-valve. The Super Sports versions got seven-inch brakes. There were steel bladetype mudguards. The rest of the tinware comprised the saddle-type fuel tank and the wrap-around oil tank. The ohv Super Sports had a speedometer as standard, it was an option for side-valve models. Front and rear stands clipped to the mudguards and later bikes even had an additional centrestand. Location of the battery could also vary. Small leather tool pouches were mounted either side of the
rear mudguard. Replacement bearings can be sourced, wheels can be rebuilt, perhaps similar mudguards can be found
but any other missing tinware may prove to be a headache. There are also variations on the exhaust
systems and silencers.
