Boucher supplied this column with some delightful period photographs of Carr’s Motor Cycles, Okehampton (TCM / YWA May 2022 page 83). Brian’s father Sydney ran this shop from 1954 until 1968 when it closed, after which he moved to their motorcycle shop at Tavistock and then ran their vehicle workshops.

A couple of months ago, Brian found two training certificates awarded to his father after completing training courses run by BSA Motor Cycles Ltd in 1961. These super looking period documents compare well with those awarded by Suzuki and Triumph in recent years to Paul, who runs our local motorcycle shop. Hope his family will hang onto his as the Bouchers have.
