Call foralhellal at Newmarket today

AlhellAl CAN break a five-year barren spell for Irish raiders in the Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket.

Not since Tony Martin saddled Leg Spinner to win in 2007 has one of the most coveted handicap prizes of the season been claimed from across the Irish Sea.

The six-year-old gelding is trained in County Kildare by Maurice Phelan, whose unheralded profile is perhaps one of the reasons why he is such a generous price.

With the mastery of two miles and two furlongs a must, stamina is obviously a big factor in picking out a possible gem.

There should be no issues on that front with Alhellal, who was a hurdles winner over two and a half miles last August.

Big things are also expected of the unbeaten Reckless Abandon in the Vision.ae Middle Park Stakes but MoohAAjiM is taken to spoil the party.

The Clive Cox- trained Reckless Abandon had looked virtually unstoppable on his last two trips to France but he is unlikely to get things all his own way as he did in the Prix Morny last time.

Recent Newbury scorer ScArf is a cautious ally in the Dubai Challenge Stakes, with the progressive JustThe Judge set to add to her Listed gains at Newmarket in the Vision.ae Rockfel Stakes.

The similarly exciting flying officer is also deserving of attention in the Autumn Stakes, while Labarinto can be the star turn on a truly excellent card in the concluding Darley Stakes.

ProdigAlity let down favouritebackers when beaten at Doncaster last month but his supporters can recover some of their losses at Goodwood tomorrow.

Ron Harris’ charge has hardly been disgraced as a succession of narrow defeats admirably demonstrates just how well is holding his form.
