Swifts made to suffer as Dalkeith grab late equaliser

-

IN THE Premier League, Jeanf ield Swifts and Dalkeith shared the points after an eight-goal thriller.

Swifts struck first after 14 minutes when Gavin Mackie scored with a 20-yard free-kick.

However, within six minutes, a Steve Pudledski penalty double put the visitors ahead.

Mark Gordon levelled for Swifts with a close range header after 28 minutes.

On the hour- mark, Kenny Fisher regained the lead for Thistle, but it was short-lived again with Robbie Holden hammering home the equaliser.

When Ross Gunnion nodded in with two minutes left, Swifts seemed to have three points in the bag, but substitute Scott McNaughton struck in stoppage time to salvage a point.

Otherwise, it was disappointment all round for Courier Country’s Premier clubs action with all three losing.

Gary Bonnes was Bathgate’s hat-trick hero as they won 3-1 at Oakley.

He opened the scoring on the half-hour mark before Willie Telfer netted for the home side only to see the ‘goal’ ruled out for offside.

This decision did not sit well with Oakley supporters and they had further reason to vent their fury when Charlie Scarborough was one-on-one with the keeper only for the ref to blow for offside again.

Bonnes completed his hat-trick in the second-half before a trialist pulled one back for Oakley.

Broughty A thletic were on the wrong end of a 5-1 defeat at A rmadale, leaving the Fed still seeking their first win.

A lthough they conceded in the first minute, Mark Kohler restored parity on the half-hour mark.

But it was deja vu for the visitors immediately on the restart as they lost another poor goal and the roof then fell in as they lost three more goals.

Despite leading 1-0 at half-time through Jimmy Murray, Glenrothes went down 2-1 at home to Newtongrange, leaving them still bottom and pointless.

To complete Ian Paterson’s side’s day of woe, they missed a penalty and had Chris Gay sent off for a second yellow card offence.
