KIRRIEMUIR
Probus Club members and friends visited the Black Watch Museum in Perth for their annual outing.
A guided tour was provided before lunch in the museum cafe, with the afternoon free to delve further into the museum or explore the grounds.
The final meeting of the current session is the AGM on June 15, followed by Robin Keay speaking on media gaffes.
LETHAM
Angus Crafts Association opened its cooperative shop in The Square two years ago, and is having a birthday open evening, at 7pm, on Wednesday June 29.
The shop supports Lippen Care and will present a cheque to the charity after its AGM at 6pm.
ARBROATH
The town netball team have just finished a second successful season in the Dundee league and to celebrate they are organising a summer of pay and play at the community centre.
This begins tomorrow with a free taster session, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
This session is open to anyone regardless of ability, minimum age 14.
FORFAR
Lowson Memorial Parish Church is holding a quality clothes sale, with many new items, on Thursday, at 7pm.
Entry £3, including refreshments. All welcome.
ARBROATH
The first concert in the Music in St Vigeans series was given by the Strathmore Singers, with conductor Roger Clegg.
Four of Parry’s Songs of Farewell and a group of madrigals were interspersed with readings, the concert concluding with Pearsall’s Lay a Garland.
Sunday’s concert will begin at 2.30pm with music from pianist Isobel Luke, soprano Maggie Findlay, flutist Heather Crabb, and violinist Gordon Penman.
