How to apply for an airgun licence
Anyone who does not want to surrender their air weapons can apply for a licence from Police Scotland from July 1.
You must be aged 14 or over to apply and the cost varies depending on the age of the applicant. Applicants will need to give information including their name and place and date of birth.
They will also be required to give a good reason for possessing an airgun.
The chief constable would then be responsible for maintaining a register containing the details of each application made, even if a certificate is not granted.
