Queen’s birthday celebrations
The Queen’s birthday will be celebrated with two events in Arbroath at the weekend.
The Royal British Legion Scotland will be holding a party on Saturday from 1pm to 4pm.
An indoor community street party will also take place on Sunday in St Vigeans.
Organisers said they don’t trust the weather so the event is expected to be held in the parish hall.
There will be bunting and red, white and blue balloons and napkins along with the china which has been dug out of numerous attics.
Tea, coffee and juice will be provided, but in keeping with the street party tradition, guests are asked to bring along a few sandwiches and cake.
There will be music from each of the Queen’s nine decades, a Royal quiz and a display of Royal memorabilia.
The party, a joint venture by St Vigeans and Knox’s churches, is from 4pm to 6pm.
