Donald comes through play-off
Luke Donald will tee it up at the US Open at Oakmont in two weeks’ time after coming through qualifying for the second year in a row.
The former world No 1 is no longer exempt for the year’s second major championship after slipping to 80th in the world rankings and faced a sixman play-off in Ohio yesterday after rounds of 68 and 69.
With five remaining places available, American Daniel Summerhays was the man to miss out after he bogeyed the second extra hole.
Bryson DeChambeau also came through qualifying.
