Oxford law student Howard Nolan (20) was handed a £1 note yesterday – his prize for eating all 566 pages of the Oxford University examination statutes. As he munched slowly through the last page in Brasenose College diningroom, the £1 was held in front of him for encouragement. It began, he said, because he was a compulsive paper nibbler. A student said: “Let’s cure Howard of the habit”, and the bet was on. Howard said: “The paper tasted not too bad, but the printer’s ink was foul.”
