A pint of beer for all the men on parade was bought by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands when she and her party visted the First Battalion, the Royal Sussex Regiment, at Canterbury yesterday. The Queen, who is Colonel-in-Chief, inspected the 250 men drawn up on parade. The men drank to Queen Juliana’s health after marching off the parade ground, where they had stood for more than two hours in the blistering heat which at times reached 80 degrees.
