A well-known medical practitioner in Pittenweem, Dr A.E. Flaxman, has designed and patented an improved grip for golf clubs. Harry Vardon, the Open champion, after repeated personal trials of it, has approved of the Flaxman grip and has spoken of it with enthusiastic appreciation. In the course of a letter to the inventor he says: “Having given those clubs you sent me a real trial, I have nothing but praise for them. The wooden clubs drive farther than the ordinary club with this patent grip of yours on.”
