Now 28 final arrests
Police said 28 arrests have now been made after the disorder at the Scottish Cup final, including a teenager detained over the alleged assault of Rangers’ goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.
Officers tasked with tracking down fans over violence and vandalism following the final whistle at Hampden on May 21 visited addresses in Edinburgh, Fife and Glasgow yesterday, resulting in 12 arrests.
Police Scotland said the latest activity is just the first phase of the large-scale investigation and more arrests are expected in the coming weeks.
Hibernian supporters flooded the pitch following the side’s dramatic 3-2 win, with Rangers fans’ also making it past stewards and onto the turf before mounted officers restored order.
Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage, television clips, photography and social media content as part of their investigation.
