Soprano Layla on song to take home the silverware
Angus soprano Layla Brown, accompanied by Helen Addison, had a successful week at the 93rd Aberdeen and North East of Scotland Music Festival.
Layla, from Arbroath, opened her successful week by winning the Nora Atkins memorial trophy for the best vocal performance after competing in the classical recital and opera class.
She then scooped the festival’s highest accolade with an outstanding performance to take the McDonald Rosebowl for Scots Song.
Layla began her study of singing with Ruth Powrie and now studies with Ann Marie Ives.
She heads to London this summer to further her training.
