Picture pioneers explored

A new festival will celebrate the role St Andrews has played in national and international photography.

Members of the St Andrews BID team are working with St Andrews University and businesses to launch the August event.

Area BID chairman Alistair Lang said: “Few realise much of the technology we enjoy the benefits of today began with the work of a collection of photographic pioneers who lived and worked in the town in the 1800s.”
