Served as apprentice

“The gentleman, centre foreground of the recent photograph of Robertson, chemist, was the owner, George A. Jervie, who was originally from Perth,” emails George Nicol. “I assume this is just prior to the auction sale of all pharmaceutical memorabilia as the business could not be sold as a going concern.

“If memory serves, I started as an apprentice in 1995 and served my two year apprenticeship in this business prior to attending Dundee Technical College and qualifying as a pharmacist.

“Our class was the last to qualify from the Tech as the School of Pharmacy closed – all would-be pharmacists now were required to attend university.”
