A special occasion?

“I was interested in the recent mention of a new book on Scottish tramway operations,” writes Graham Martin-Bates of St Madoes.

“I enclose a photograph (see below) from our archives at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum which shows a Dundee tram and what must have been a special occasion. I wonder if anyone can shed any light on what it was.

“As was usual at such events, the little girl in the foreground and the boy on the top deck have made sure that they are in good positions for their images to be captured for posterity.”
