Mayfair Lady to show her class at York

RACING: Winning return on cards for Fahey-trained three-year-old

-

MAYFAIR LADY has what it takes to deliver the goods in the EBF Breeders’ Series Fillies’ Handicap at York.

The Richard Fahey-trained threeyear-old takes on older members of her sex on her seasonal reappearance but looks well treated on her best form.

Winner of a nursery over the course and distance at the Ebor Festival in August, she was far from disgraced when fourth in Group Three company at Salisbury before signing off with a creditable fifth in the totepool TwoYear-old Trophy at Redcar.

Mayfair Lady was rated 104 at her highest last term but now runs off a mark of 100, and will have another useful 7lb taken off her back in the shape of the smart apprentice Adam McNamara. SHREWD can build on his run on the Knavesmire last month to take the Rush Hair York Opening 18th June Handicap.

Iain Jardine’s six-year-old put in his best work at the finish when fifth to Forever Popular over a mile and a half to suggest that he should be well suited by this extra two furlongs.

Karl Burke has had a regular supply of winners in the last few weeks, and

WHOLESOME can add to his impressive tally at Sandown.

Wholesome should be up to defying top weight in the Sri Lanka: Paradise Island/EBF Stallions Fillies’ Handicap.

Sir Michael Stoute gave SHABBAH a low-profile campaign after his 200,000 guineas sale price, which the Sea The Stars colt has benefited from with wins at Bath and Nottingham.

He can complete the hat-trick in the Sri Lanka: Something For Everyone Handicap. SELECTIONS:
