Angus has a holiday club, fiddling and then some singing in the glens

HOLIDAY CLUB:

Lowson Memorial Parish Church is running its holiday club from August 8-12 from 10.30am-12.30pm.

Open to children from P1-P7, the club will provide songs, stories, crafts, games and drama for the youngsters to enjoy.

There is no charge and registrati­on is from 10am-noon on Saturday in the church.

To round off the week, there is a family fun day on Saturday August 13 from 11am-2pm.

GARIOCH BLEND:

Montrose Accordion and Fiddle Club welcomes the Garioch Blend to the Park Hotel tomorrow night from 7.30pm.

On Friday night a Scottish variety concert is being presented with one of Scotland’s top fiddlers Paul Anderson, Scottish accordion champion Wayne Robertson, bothy ballad champion Shona Donaldson, Kirrie the Fit and Wray Thomson. SINGING FOR DELIGHT:

An innovative singing workshop will take place in the Angus Glens next month.

The three-day residentia­l workshop is called Singing For Delight and will take place at Balnaboth House in Glen Prosen.

It will be led by Christine Kydd and Jeannie MacLean and uses the Alexander technique, which focuses on bringing the body back into alignment to improve posture and breathing while freeing the voice.

The workshop runs from September 9-11 and costs £275 per person.
