NEW IMAGE FOR JUICE

Once one of the main brands on the Scottish soft drink scene, Bon Accord was a household name. Now, four generation­s on, the company has been revived for the 21st Century.

It has launched a new range of soft drinks including lightly sparkling tonic water, tangy lemonade, fiery ginger beer and crisp rhubarb. None of them contain refined sugar or artificial sweeteners.

MUSIC, POETRY AND FOOD

Head to Lindores Abbey in Newburgh, Fife, for an evening of music, poetry and food created by Fife Food Ambassador Christophe­r Trotter to celebrate the Year of Innovation, Architectu­re and Design. It will be hosted by Drew and Helen McKenzie-Smith who are currently building a new whisky distillery and visitor centre in the shadow of the abbey.The event takes place on August 26 from 7pm-10pm, tickets are £25 from eventbrite.co.uk

NOT SO HUMBLE PIE

Morrisons caramelise­d onion lattice pork pie, £1.50, has been crowned the best pie in the UK by people in the know including Michelin starred chefs and master butchers.

Despite costing only £1.50, the pie has taken six months and 12 recipe attempts to develop and perfect and more than 40 pie experts were involved in its developmen­t.
