FORFAR: Angus Three-Way Fundraisers are holding a prize bingo in the Royal British Legion Scotland hall tonight. Eyes down 7.30pm, all welcome.
MUSIC: George Rennie played 17 dances in the Old and Abbey Church hall, West Abbey Street, Arbroath, including White Heather Foxtrot, Joe McDermott’s Jig, Shifting Bobbins, and Hoopers Jig.
Refreshments were enjoyed at the interval and dances ended with the Edinburgh Mixture and the Jesse Polka.
Peter Bruce will play on October 9 from 7.30pm to 10pm. All welcome.
ARBROATH: Arbroath Antiquary and History Club begins a new season of meetings on Friday, when the guest speaker will be Derek Robertson on the subject of the British Allotment Association.
Meetings are held on the last Friday of the month at 2pm in the upper hall of Arbroath Library. New members are always welcome.
HEALTH: GP flu vaccination clinics are being made available in Angus in the coming weeks.
The vaccine is available free of charge for people in at-risk groups including pregnant women, those aged 65 years and over and unpaid carers.
Drop-in and appointment only clinics will be held at various locations. Children aged between two and five who are not at school can also receive the childhood flu immunisation at their GP surgery.

Once a contractor has been appointed to begin work, the committee will be looking for offers for items due to be stripped out of the building, including radiators, light fittings and kitchen cupboards.
BRECHIN: Parkview Bowling Club raised £380 at a Macmillan coffee morning on Saturday. The winner of the spot the cake competition was Jock Craig and Mabel Ritchie won the signed Bowls Scotland top.
