Debut for flanker
With Glasgow again stretched by the loss of their Scotland internationals, 20-year-old flanker Matt Smith will be handed his senior Warriors debut against Ospreys in Cardiff tomorrow.
Prop Jamie Bhatti is also handed his first start while Pat MacArthur could make his 150th appearance for the club if he appears from the bench.
Rob Harley returns from Scotland camp to pack down on the blind-side.
The conversion was missed but Edinburgh extended their lead in the 55th minute, with Scholes again the scorer.
Cardiff struck back with just over an hour on the clock, with Hoeata making the initial break and Bennett eventually completing the job between the posts to leave Shingler a simple conversion.
Sensing that the game was there to be won, Cardiff belatedly came to life and they snatched the lead when Williams darted through on a chip ahead and read the bounce to touch down.
Shingler’s conversion attempt was charged down, leaving the visitors with a one-point advantage with six minutes left. That proved to be enough, though, as Kinghorn missed with a long-range penalty.
