Brodie wins through to MasterChef semis as Imran is sent home
Fife MasterChef hopeful Brodie Williams secured a place in the TV cooking competition’s semi-final despite offering judges a “confused” plate of food.
Brodie, right, who was raised in Cupar and attended New Park School in St Andrews, won a place in the next round of the competition despite failing to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode with his dessert of poached pinapple with rum caramel, chocolate mousse topped with a chocolate crumb and passion fruit ice cream.
Gregg Wallace said: “All three of these things are delicious but they don’t belong together.”
John Torode added: “The problem is we asked for one showstopper and this isn’t. I like your cooking but this is confused.”
Despite failing to wow judges, Brodie secured his place in next week’s semi-final when Imran Nathoo was booted off the competition in the final episode of this week’s knockouts.
The dentist failed to impress the judges with his questionable combination of chocolate and blackberry with undercooked venison.
Host John Torode said the meat was so raw inside that he would “send it back” at a restaurant, summarising: “I don’t like it.”
In the final episode before the semi-finals kick off next week, viewers were not surprised to see the back of Imran.
Stuart Borley commented on Twitter: “Imran. Finally. had more second chances than Honey G.”
Calli Kitson added: “Not once did I think Imran stood a chance of getting to the final, he was clearly put through in hope he might make a good dish #MasterChef.”
