GLENISLA. Mrs Sheelagh Cameron presided. Mrs Jenny Ralston won the competitio­n for the best syllabus suggestion and flower of the month was won by Mrs Margaret Melville. The cup for most points was presented to Mrs Kathleen Davidson and Mrs Hilary Lawrence was runner up. Committee: president, Mrs H Lawrence; vice-president, Mrs J Ralston; secretary, Mrs K Davidson; treasurer, Mrs J Redpath; assistant and press secretary, Mrs H Thom; assistant treasurer and raffle secretary, Mrs B Grant; points secretary, Mrs E Guthrie. Retiring secretary Mrs Sheelagh Cameron was thanked for all her hard work over the last three years.

INVERARITY. Members met at Adamson’s for the summer outing where they enjoyed an excellent high tea.

KIRRIEMUIR. Members travelled to Glamis Castle where they enjoyed a delicious lunch. Retiring committee members Linda Wells, Anne Morrall and Jill Anderson were thanked for their work. Committee: president, Chris Horrocks; vice-president, Dianne Stout; secretary, Pat Paterson; treasurer, Marie Strange; minutes and press secretary, Charlotte Brown. After lunch some members took the opportunit­y to visit the most impressive Coronation Robes of George VI and Queen Elizabeth Exhibition while others browsed the shop.

LOGIE PERT. Cathy Aitken was re-elected as president. Prize-winners: Gorrie cup, most points in monthly competitio­ns, Cathy Aitken; Jeffrey cup, runner-up, Isobel Law. Flower of month, Margaret Fairweathe­r. Paterson Salver for baking this year, Wilma Simpson. Joe Wishart entertaine­d with amusing stories of his life in entertainm­ent.

MARYKIRK. Ally Ballingall, a volunteer with Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, gave a talk on the organisati­on. Competitio­ns: fruit cordial – 1 H MacDonald, 2 A Rushbridge; glass ornament – 1 P Mitchell, 2 B Davidson; flower of the month – 1 K Masson, 2 F Dixon.

RHYND. Norah Winyard presided at the annual meeting and introduced Forteviot members, who entertaine­d with songs and poems. Competitio­ns: points cup: 1 F Todd, 2 H McGregor; empire biscuits – 1 I Watson, 2 F Todd; decorated bottle – 1 A Castle, 2 F Todd; flower of month – M Ballantine.
