Man criticised for ‘19th Century’ attitude towards women
A man who admitted directing aggression towards a woman has been ordered to undertake a domestic abuse programme.
Mark Simpson, 26, of Priory Crescent, Arbroath, admitted committing a breach of the peace in Montrose Street, Brechin, on June 6, acting aggressively towards his former partner and grabbing her body.
At Forfar Sheriff Court he also admitted smashing a window at the same place and location.
Sheriff Gregor Murray said: “It appears his attitude to women is rooted in the 19th Century.”
As well as the programme, the sheriff ordered Simpson to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.
