FORFAR: The Lowson Memorial Church will host a holiday club for primary school age children from Monday to Friday next week, 10.30am until 12.30pm on the theme of ‘Rocky’s Plaice’ with the action taking place in a fish and chip shop.
Children will get a chance to find out more about the life of Peter through storytelling, drama, singing, craft and games with registration at the church on Saturday from 10am to 12 noon or on the day.
Meanwhile, a family fun day will be held at the church from 11am-2pm on August 12.
CHARITY: Two Arbroath men asked for donations to Cancer Research instead of gifts as they celebrated their 65th birthdays. Jim Smith and Colin McInroy raised £500 for Arbroath Relay for Life.
BRECHIN: A vintage fashion show will be hosted by the Brechin Tea Dancy Group on Saturday August 12 from 12pm-3pm at Brechin City Hall in aid of Breast Cancer Care,
Gardiner Memorial Steel Band, Scott Carnegie, and the cast of Opus will be performing.
Entry is £1.
CONCERT: Arbroath soprano Evelyn Fordyce will be featured at St Mary’s Church, in the third of a season of lunch-hour concerts, on Saturday, at noon.
Evelyn will be joined by soprano Bella Robb and accompanied by Helen Addison at the free concert which will be preceded by Foodshare, from 10.30am.
