FORFAR: The Lowson Memorial Church will host a holiday club for primary school age children from Monday to Friday next week, 10.30am until 12.30pm on the theme of ‘Rocky’s Plaice’ with the action taking place in a fish and chip shop.

Children will get a chance to find out more about the life of Peter through storytelli­ng, drama, singing, craft and games with registrati­on at the church on Saturday from 10am to 12 noon or on the day.

Meanwhile, a family fun day will be held at the church from 11am-2pm on August 12.

CHARITY: Two Arbroath men asked for donations to Cancer Research instead of gifts as they celebrated their 65th birthdays. Jim Smith and Colin McInroy raised £500 for Arbroath Relay for Life.

BRECHIN: A vintage fashion show will be hosted by the Brechin Tea Dancy Group on Saturday August 12 from 12pm-3pm at Brechin City Hall in aid of Breast Cancer Care,

Gardiner Memorial Steel Band, Scott Carnegie, and the cast of Opus will be performing.

Entry is £1.

CONCERT: Arbroath soprano Evelyn Fordyce will be featured at St Mary’s Church, in the third of a season of lunch-hour concerts, on Saturday, at noon.

Evelyn will be joined by soprano Bella Robb and accompanie­d by Helen Addison at the free concert which will be preceded by Foodshare, from 10.30am.
