Break gives Violet time to regroup

-

In view of the departure of Violet manager Ralph Henderson and almost his entire management team, yesterday’s postponement of their game at Coupar Angus comes as a blessing in disguise.

With no game for the next two weeks it gives the Pansies time to regroup.

Violet will use the break to begin the hunt for a new boss. Inquiries to Brian Coutts on 07720 443374.

Meanwhile, East Craigie’s long serving president Ade Shearer has resigned.

His association with the Shipbuiders stretches back many years, starting as a player.

“It is with regret that the committee of ECJFC has reluctantly accepted the resignation of long standing club president Ade Shearer.”

“Ade has held numerous positions in the club and for the last 10 years has worked tirelessly to ensure the club stayed in existence and remained the oldest club in Dundee and one of Scotland’s oldest junior clubs.

“Ade has resigned for personal reasons, but he goes with our thanks, best wishes and the hope he may come back to the club again.”

Arbroath Vics v Lochee Harp is the only game with a chance of going ahead today with Blairgowrie v Brechin Vics , Forfar Albion v East Craigie, Kinnoull v North End and Luncarty v Newburgh all falling to the freezing tempertaures.

Although Montrose Roselea switched their North Region Super League fixture with Dufftown to Broomfield Park, it proved academic, with the game being postponed last night.
