Lochee United eased their way into the last 16 of the Junior Cup with a 5-0 win over East Kilbride at Thomson Park.

Thistle’s Doug Ryan missed a firstminute chance, and the Blue Bells wasted no time in taking the lead with Stephen Mcnally curling in a free-kick. Connor Birse added a second. Craig Smith, Birse again and Logan Davie netted in a one-sided second half.

Kennoway Star Hearts were rolled over 6-2 at Kirkintilloch Rob Roy.

Gary Mcmenamin headed the home side in front after a minute and Joe Slattery and Shaun Fraser added two more before the break. Stefan Law and Lee Gallacher notched goals four and five before Gary Carroll stroked home the sixth from a penalty.

Kennoway never gave up and were rewarded with a Matthew Gay double in 83 and 85 minutes.

Wishaw and Downfield resolved their third-round differences at the 10th attempt, with Wishaw winning 5-1 at the Beltane. They will host Forth Wanderers in round four.

Andy Duffy’s 17th-minute opener was cancelled out by the Spiders’ Dale Davidson six minutes later but the second half belonged to the home side, helped by two penalties and Downfield’s Jack Neave being sent off.

The Forfar West End and Jeanfield Swifts ties, away to Kilbirnie Ladeside and at home to Beith respectively, were called off, but they fixed up friendlies against Premier League opponents.

Swifts drew 1-1 with Glenrothes, while West End beat Kirrie Thistle 6-0.

Their cup matches are scheduled to be played next Saturday, as is Carnoustie’s tie at Kilsyth Rangers.
