Tom Mckean buried his accidentprone reputation on the track to win the 800 metres crown at the world indoor championships in Toronto – but blundered by failing to attend his medal ceremony! The Glaswegian put the golden seal on a super weekend for Scots athletics following Yvonne Murray’s 3,000 win and David Strang’s 1,500m silver medal. Mckean, who has waited so long to win his world title, was phoning his dad Dougie back home and forgot the medal ceremony was about to start.
