Scot­land faces its third crunch con­sti­tu­tional vote in four years af­ter Ni­cola Stur­geon de­manded a sec­ond in­de­pen­dence ref­er­en­dum The First Min­is­ter was ac­cused of “play­ing pol­i­tics with the fu­ture of our coun­try” by Theresa May, but the PM re­fused to say whether she would grant an­other bal­lot. Ms Stur­geon said she wants a poll to be held be­tween the au­tumn of 2018 and the spring of the fol­low­ing year to al­low Scot­land to choose, she said, “the kind of coun­try we will be­come” be­fore leav­ing the EU.
