SNP MP raises public safety concerns over railway gate
Dundee East SNP MP, Stewart Hosie, has written to Network Rail regarding the gate at the railway on Anderson Street, Carnoustie.
The gate, which allows for people to cross the railway tracks, has not been closing properly for some time, sparking outrage from dog walkers and parents.
A number of constituents and local groups, particularly worried for the safety of children and pets, raised the issue with their MP Mr Hosie.
He said: “The issue with the gate not closing properly is a real cause for concern – there is a genuine risk to public safety.
“I would also urge residents in the meantime to take extra special care when using the crossing.”
