Jurassic show for gala week

Forfar Dramatic Society is presenting Jurassic Parks on Thursday and Friday as part of Forfar Gala Week.

Performances will be held in Studio 132, East High Street, with a 7.30pm start.

The show is an affectionate retelling of Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster dinosaur movie.

Superbolt Theatre has been touring it across the world to critical acclaim over the last three years and has won awards in Edinburgh.

Members of the society were so impressed by the show when they saw it in the capital that they asked Superbolt Theatre if they could put on their own production.

The cast and company said they were thrilled to have been given the opportunity to present the play to local audiences.

“We first saw the show in Edinburgh two years ago,” said a spokesperson for the society.

“We knew then that we wanted to stage it and that our audience would love it.

“We are now thrilled to have the opportunity to share this epic, spine-tingling piece of megalithic mayhem with the people of Forfar.

“When we approached Superbolt for permission to stage the play, we weren’t sure what the response would be, but they’ve been great.

“We are particularly pleased to be presenting the show as part of Forfar Gala Week.”
