Caledonian Marts Ltd, Stirling, sold 158 cattle comprising 50 prime bullocks and heifers to include two young bulls, 86 cast cows and bulls, and 22 calves.
Prime Bullocks averaged 230p , prime heifers 236p, beef cows 139p, dairy cows 112p and cast bulls 110p.
Bullocks sold to 262p for a Limousin from Faskine and to £1,626 for a Limousin from Mains of Cultmalundie, Tibbermore. Heifers also sold to 262p for a Limousin from Brockwoodlees and to £1,646 for a Limousin from Mains of Cultmalundie.
Bullocks per kilo 260p and 250p Brockwoodlees; 252p and 245p Creochill; 242p Mains of Cultmalundie; 235p Rathillet and Mawcarse.
Heifers 258p Mains of Cultmalundie and Brockwoodlees; 255p Merrick; 252p Brockwoodlees; 250p Overton and Faskine; 248p & 240p (twice) Merrick 235p (Three Times) Merrick and Rathillet. Also forward were 86 OTMS, cast cows and bulls. Beef cows sold to £1270 for a Limousin from Kirkton Farm and to 158.5ppkg also for a Limousin from France Farm to ave 139ppkg.
Dairy cows sold to £1,110 from Wharlawhill Farmand to 150ppkg from Carneil Farm to ave 112p.
Cast bulls sold to £1,620 for a Charolais from Blairsgreen Farm Ltd and to 110ppkg for the same animal.
