Kay takes over as manager at Tayport

Tayport last night announced they have appointed the experience­d former Dundonald Bluebell manager Stevie Kay as their new manager, replacing Charlie King who resigned recently.

Chairman Dave Baikie said: “I am delighted that we have been able to appoint Stevie and believe that he is exactly what Tayport is crying out for.”

Kay will be joined by former Glenrothes manager Willie Campbell and Ryan Blackadder, and the new management team will be in charge next weekend as Tayport take on Lochee United at The Canniepair­t

Port lost their 100% home Super League record by going down 3-0 to Thornton Hibs.

Hibs took the lead through an own goal and Stuart Drummond made it 2-0 on the half hour.

Gary Thomson made sure of the win with a third for Thornton midway through the second half.

Tayport had caretaker boss Jamie Mackie sent from the dugout and Jamie Gill shown two yellow cards, while Thornton’s Daniel Mcnab was also shown two yellows.

Kirrie Thistle faced an injury-hit Fauldhouse United at Westview Park but the Lothian side had too much for Chris Kettles’ side and headed home with all three points from a 3-1 win.

David O’donnell put United in front after 17 minutes and extended the lead 10 minutes after half-time. John Farquharso­n pulled a goal back for Kirrie only for Ryan Smilie to put a stop to any Fauldhouse concerns with eight minutes left.

North End destroyed Arbroath Vics at Ogilvy Park, romping to a 12-0 Premier League North win.

Gary Sutherland scored four, with Ryan Rigden and Kieran Sturrock netting two apiece. The other goals came from Barrie Pullar, Ryan Smith Liam Mccartney and Lee Cameron.

East Craigie found it tough going at Forfar Albion but Andy Mcdonald scored twice and Sean Reekie got the other in a 3-2 win. Kevin Scott and Conor Adam were the Albion scorers.
