Christmas spirit hits West End

It’s officially Christmas time in the West End of Dundee.

Festive lights were switched on last night at Seabraes.

Children, including sixmonth old Flora Kirk, pictured, from Dundee, who is about to experience her first Christmas, met Santa Claus.

Santa also handed out gifts to youngsters, supported by Dundee Round Table, stoking excitement for the big day.

Those who braved the wind and rain to see the illuminations go on were also treated to a display of fireworks.

The switch-on was preceded by a concert in Dundee West Church, featuring local children.

West End councillor Fraser Macpherson said: “This was a superb night as part of the West End Christmas Fortnight and shows the great community spirit in the West End.”
