No Stroll in the park but on-form Austin strikes late as Hearts progress

Kelty Hearts goal machine Nathan Austin was the hero once again as his goal two minutes from the end of extra-time saw the Lowland League side through to the fourth round of the South Challenge Cup at Civil Service Strollers.

Austin had put Hearts in front after 15 minutes but the visitors could not increase their lead and put the game to bed.

Alieau Faye equalised for the home side midway through the second half from the penalty spot and it was no surprise that the game went to extra-time – then with penalties approachin­g Austin popped up with the winner after 118 minutes.

Hill of Beath led 3-0 at Penicuik Athletic but were left hanging on desperatel­y with 10 men before winning 3-2.

Joe Kinnonmont­h, Lewis Elder and Regan Lumsden were the Haws scorers as they booked a place in the last 16.

Glenrothes went down 3-1 at Dunipace, with the home side scoring all of the goals.

Jeanfield Swifts lost 1-0 to Cumbernaul­d Colts at Broadwood Stadium in controvers­ial circumstan­ces.

The winner came on the hour mark.

Cumbernaul­d’s Fraser Team went down in the box and the referee awarded what appeared to be a soft penalty.

Colts weren’t bothered and Craig Holmes made no mistake from the spot.

Football Nation Qualifying Cup Round 2

Inverkeith­ing Hillfield Swifts put up a great fight against Premier Division leaders Bo’ness United in the Qualifying Cup but ultimately went out of the competitio­n 2-1.

Tom Grant and Mark Mooney put the visitors in front but Swifts got the reward they deserved when Callum Strang pulled one back midway through the second half but Bo’ness held firm to see out the game.

There were 10 goals at Moorside Park as Dundonald beat Lowland League side Edinburgh University 6-4.

Bluebell’s marksmen were Lewis Mckenzie (2), Michael Ness (2), Billy Rogerson and Chris Gay.

Alex Jack Cup Round 3

Oakley United are through to their first semi-final as a Senior club after a 2-1 win over Kinnoull at Tulloch Park.

Craig Martin put the Fife side in front two minutes after half-time but midway through the half Dale Smart equalised for Kinnoull with a great finish from just inside the box.

The winner for Oakley came on 77 minutes when the ball was turned into his own net by a home defender from a corner.

Central Taxis East of Scotland League First Division Conference A

St Andrews United went goal crazy at home to Peebles Rovers, winning 8-1.

Kyle Wilson (3), Charlie King (2), Dylan Honeyman, Ryan Mcinnes and a trialist scored the goals.

Burntislan­d Shipyard took a well deserved point from their trip to league leaders Leith Athletic, drawing 1-1
