Axworthy leads the way with hat-trick as Blair ease to win

Leaders Blairgowri­e stay two points clear of East Craigie in second after a comfortabl­e 5-0 win at Forfar Albion.

Cammy Mcmanus gave Blair a great start after just two minutes and on five minutes it got better as Gary Axworthy doubled the advantage.

Axworthy scored his second on 52 minutes and completed his hat-trick on 59 minutes.

Ben Middleton completed the scoring with Blairgowri­e’s fifth with 10 minutes remaining.

East Craigie kept the pressure on Blairgowri­e as they thrashed Coupar Angus 8-1 at Craigie Park.

George Johnston scored four for the Shipbuilde­rs, Ben Garrick scored twice alongside strikes from Rory Faulkner and Paul Moran, while Stefan Brown netted the Coupar Angus consolatio­n.

Arbroath Vics jumped above Dundee Violet into third place with a 3-0 victory over the 10-man Pansies at Ogilvy Park.

Violet were reduced to 10 men before half-time when James Connolly was shown a red card and after the break Vics took control, Matty Reynolds put his side in front on 56 minutes with Michael Fotheringh­am scoring twice on 72 and 81 minutes.

Lochee Harp recorded an impressive 3-1 victory at Victoria Park against Brechin Vics.

Michael Mcbrearty, Brian Harris and Jay Smart were the Harp scorers, with Liam Scott scoring for the Vics.

Montrose Roselea never really recovered from going 1-0 down after just four minutes at Dyce and ended up losing the game 4-0.

Adam Mcnamee hit the Dyce opener and Mark Bartlett added a second on the half-hour.

Roselea passed up a great chance to get back in the game on 33 minutes when

Thomson saw his penalty comfortabl­y saved by Pennycook.

Bartlett made it three with his second just after the hour mark and completed his hat-trick with a header on 68 minutes.

Kennoway Star Hearts were never in the game at home to Armadale Thistle, going down 4-0 to their Lothian opponents.

Kyle Sampson scored the opener after just three minutes and Mcinnes added a second after 12 before Ryan Slessor made it 3-0 on the half-hour.

Sampson added his second and Thistle’s fourth on 65 minutes for a comfortabl­e win.

Newburgh remain in second place, a point ahead of Rosyth, following an entertaini­ng 3-2 win over Syngenta at East Shore Park.

Rosyth have gone three points clear of Kirkcaldy after a 2-0 win away from home at Linlithgow Rose.

Lochgelly Albert were impressive 3-0 winners at Newtown Park against Bo’ness United Juniors.

Lowland League Kelty Hearts had scored 13 goals in their previous two encounters this season against Vale of Leithen, so it was no real surprise that the visitors were on the end of another thrashing at the hands of Barry Ferguson’s side at New Central Park, but the 11-0 win was a bit of a shock.

Hearts led 7-0 at the break courtesy of two goals from both Nathan Austin and Cammy Russell as well as strikes from Scott Linton, Arnault Bembo and Ross Philp.

The second half saw Austin find the back of the net twice more as well as goals from Dylan Easton and Stephen Husband to complete the rout.
