The Prince of Wales was yesterday presented with an honorary degree by Aberdeen University, as his father the Duke of Edinburgh looked on. The prince was made Doctor of Laws, with the conferral carried out by the university’s chancellor Sir Kenneth Alexander. The duke represented Edinburgh University in his capacity as its chancellor. The degree ceremony marked the lunch of the university’s quincentenary celebrations and was conducted in an appropriate atmosphere of history and pageantry.
