The Prince of Wales was yesterday presented with an honorary degree by Aberdeen University, as his father the Duke of Edinburgh looked on. The prince was made Doctor of Laws, with the conferral carried out by the university’s chancellor Sir Kenneth Alexander. The duke represente­d Edinburgh University in his capacity as its chancellor. The degree ceremony marked the lunch of the university’s quincenten­ary celebratio­ns and was conducted in an appropriat­e atmosphere of history and pageantry.
