Fife salon owner detained
The Fife salon owner at the centre of controversy over refusal to wear face masks has been detained amid concerns for his health.
Brent Burnett, owner of Glenwood Salon in Glenrothes caused a storm of protest over the weekend after announcing that staff and customers would not be required to wear face masks despite the Scottish Government having ruled they were mandatory for all staff.
The salon’s Facebook page included claims made at the weekend that coronavirus was a hoax and a cover for 5G roll out.
While the salon remained closed on Monday, further posts were made, one of which mentioned burning the salon down.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed moves had been made to ensure Mr Burnett’s safety.
