Man, 42, appears in court charged with raping teenager in Kelty

A 42-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with the rape of a young woman in Kelty.

Mostafizur Rahman, of Dunfermline, appeared in private at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday to face a single charge of rape. He made no plea and the case was committed for further examination.

Rahman was released on bail, pending a further appearance at a later date.

The suspect was arrested more than a month after the incident. At around 11.15pm on July 6, an 18-year-old woman was found in the Limepark Crescent area of Kelty, a quiet residential street of new-build housing to the north of the town, and told officers she had been attacked shortly before within a car.
