Police appealing for information after man dies in ‘targeted attack’
A 26-year-old man has died after an alleged street shooting in South Lanarkshire.
Police were called to a report of a disturbance on Caithness Street, Blantyre, at about 5pm on Monday.
The man was injured during the incident, which police believe was a targeted attack. He was taken to University Hospital Wishaw, where he died a short time later.
Police are treating the death as suspicious and a post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of his death. Inquiries are continuing and police urged anyone with information to contact them on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
