Road to perdition?
Sir, – As a frequent traveller from Carnoustie to Arbroath I have yet to spot any cyclists making use of this proposed cycle lane.
I was under the impression that the two-lane highway was constructed to improve the flow of traffic and now we have Angus Council yet again trying to make alterations to a system which already works.
My main concern is one lane for vehicles including fire appliances and ambulances with nowhere to go in an emergency.
This one factor is enough to cause concern. Any lives lost due to appliances being unable to reach their target is totally unacceptable and surely some common sense remains in Angus Council.
Life is worth a lot more than £60 million investment which is what the council seems to be focused on.
