Lochee Harp appoint Mcskimming as boss

-

Lochee Harp have named former Carnoustie boss and Tayport assistant manager Alan Mcskimming as their new manager.

Chris Macpherson, who was manager at Tayport, joins as his assistant with Frankie and Aaron Conway making up the rest of new team.

It couldn’t be a bigger start for Mcskimming as he leads Harp into the big derby against Dundee Violet at Glenesk Park.

The new manager will name his side nearer kickoff but will be looking to bring in some experienced heads to the squad.

Violet go into the game after a break last week, with their game at Blairgowrie snowed off, and that has allowed a few players that were carrying niggles time to heal, leaving Andy Heggie with a full squad to choose from.

Carnoustie Panmure boss Phil Mcguire has asked his side to follow up Tuesday night’s record 15-0 win at Lochee Harp with another dominant performance as the Gowfers host Arbroath Vics at Laing Park.

Carnoustie will be without Sam Simpson who is on his way back from a broken collarbone.

Vics will travel in confident mood after a 4-0 win over Forfar United last week and will look to put a dent in Carnoustie’s title chase.

Sadly, for Vics, their Ogilvy Park ground was subjected to vandalism last weekend with the damage expected to cost around £4,000 – and as a result a Gofundme page has been launched to help with the cost and can be found at https://gofund.me/5f1bfd4b

The new-look Coupar Angus proved to be a real handful for Carnoustie Panmure, two weeks ago, with the Gowfers edging them out 3-2 thanks to a Steven Mcphee strike late in the game.

Today they travel to the Quest Precision Engineering Arena to take on Broughty Athletic and will once again be looking to cause their opponents a problem and challenge one of the league “big hitters”.

Broughty have no new injury concerns and manager Darren Scott expects to have the same squad that beat Harp two weeks ago.

Brechin Vics hope to have a full squad available for the visit of St James.

The Dundee side will be without Cameron Mccormack who was sent off at half-time in the 7-0 thrashing of Lochee Harp at Fairfield Park last week.

Dundee North End were one of the sides hit by the weather last week after their game at Kirrie Thistle was postponed due to snow.

But it should be fine this afternoon as Ross Lunan’s North End welcome the Perth side Letham to North End Park.

The Dokens are still targeting third place and will want no less than three points.

Both sides are expected to have full squads available after last week’s postponements.

Forfar United have a number of injuries as they face Kirrie Thistle at Guthrie Park.

Ben Ranstead, Jamie Graham and Morgan Evans are all out injured with Aidan Marshal suspended, though goalkeeper Jack Shaw returns.

Thistle travel to Forfar with a full squad and will be looking to build on their win at Brechin Vics two weeks ago.

Lochee United face Downfield at Thomson Park as they look to end the season on a high.

United sit in third place 15 points behind Carnoustie but with three games in hand. However, they have North End breathing down their neck as they look to claim third position.

Downfield were disappointing in their heavy defeat at East Craigie with defensive errors contributing to a number of the goals conceded. Both sides are expected to have full squads available.

Tayport entertain Forfar West End at The Canniepairt.

Manager Eddie Wolecki-black is already planning for the new season and will be wanting to end the current one on a high.

Tayport will be without Kris Rollo while West End miss the suspended pair of Ryan Kerrigan and Cameron Fleming.
