Centre of city locked down after clock hand works its way loose

Emergency services blocked off an area of Dunfermline city centre yesterday after a clock hand came loose on the City Chambers. Firefighters were called to Kirkgate just before 10am and police officers locked down surrounding streets during the incident, believed to be linked to strong winds. A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We sent one appliance and one high appliance to make the structure safe.”
