● At a meeting held last Thursday, members of Dundee and District Philatelic Society observed a minute’s silence in honour of honorary member Bill Early who died recently.

The group were also treated to a display by Alan Blakely, of Caledonian Philatelic Society, on USA National Parks.

● MSP for Mid Scotland and the Fife region, Murdo Fraser, has said that he believes part of the reason for a drop in footfall in Perth city centre has been caused by local authority staff continuing to work from home.

It comes as retailer Oliver Bonas, along with 63 Tay Street, recently closed their doors in the city.

● Fife jazz musicians, Seonaid Aitken and Ewan Hastie, have been nominated for accolades at the prestigiou­s Scottish Jazz Awards 2022.

The public vote opened on November 10 and will close on November 25, with the awards ceremony taking place at Glasgow’s Savings Bank on December 8.

● Public engagement on the third Local Developmen­t Plan for Perth and Kinross will begin in early 2023, providing an opportunit­y for residents to have their say and inform the content of the plan.

Councillor­s at the environmen­t, infrastruc­ture and economic developmen­t committee meeting, to be held on November 16, will consider the latest update on the Perth and Kinross Developmen­t Plan Scheme.

● The Lochee Library Wargames Club in Dundee will hold their next session on November 16 from 3.30pm, providing tabletop games in Dundee Libraries for under 18s. The group meets every second Wednesday.
