● Freuchie Cricket Club is to hold a coffee morning this Saturday from 10am until noon at its ground in the village.

There will be a raffle and tombola to get involved in and everyone is welcome to attend.

● Glenrothes Art Club’s annual exhibition in the upstairs gallery in Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, has been officially opened by Ross Christie of Onfife.

The exhibition opened to the public yesterday and will run until December 8 from 10am until 5pm from Mondays to Saturdays.

● A leading academic will address Dundee University at the launch of a new lecture series at the university’s Dalhousie Building.

Professor Sosten Chiotha will deliver the lecture, entitled building community and ecosystem resilience to climate change – lessons from Lake Chilwa Basin (Malawi), tomorrow from 6-7pm.

● There will be a fundraisin­g table sale held in the Eassie and Nevay Hall this Saturday from 10am until 4pm.

There will be 20 tables including artwork, plants and children’s toys, with tasty treats also on sale and everyone is welcome to come along.

● Fifty community groups across Perth and Kinross have shared more than £111,000 of council funding to provide warm spaces for residents this winter.

Councillor­s approved £470,000 of funding to support community groups in the region this winter.

● A Christmas fair will be held at St Martin’s Church in Dundee on Saturday from 11am until 1pm.

Entry is free and all are welcome.
