First minister welcomes benefit demand as website struggles
Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has welcomed the demand for a newly-expanded benefit as the website for applications reportedly crashed yesterday. The Scottish Child Payment was expanded to include all eligible families with children under the age of 16, as well as increasing the payment from £20 per week to £25. Ms Sturgeon is seen talking to pupils during a visit to Whitehill Secondary School, Glasgow, yesterday.
