Night bus change just not the ticket

-

Sir, – I am now fed up to the back teeth with Stagecoach Scotland.

Every Friday night I get the last bus from Arbroath to Dundee at 23.09 in Carnoustie. I have caught this bus for approximately 15 years and after coming back from holiday I found out this bus now terminates at Tesco Monifieth. I assume it turns and heads back to Arbroath.

This was always a busy bus, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. I remember when it could be running up to 20 minutes late with people heading to nightclubs in Dundee.

It’s also a favourite with the patrons of the Webster Theatre in Arbroath as the earlier bus is usually before the shows finish. There is also a fair smattering of workers from the care homes in Carnoustie and Dundee.

I don’t understand the reasoning for cancelling this bus. If it has to stop in Monifieth why not run it to North Balmossie Street where passengers could at least walk up to the Dundee boundary and get a Barnhill bus which would take them into the city centre.

This bus is busier than some of the earlier ones.

Has a consultation been done? I wonder, as it just doesn’t make sense. Lindsay Brown. Stracathro Terrace, Dundee.
