Champions lead the field as ploughing match returns
After a three-year absence due to Covid restrictions, enthusiasts from across Scotland finally got a chance to show off their skills again at the Easter Ross Ploughing Match. The event was held at Shandwick Mains by kind permission of James and David Jack. Results: Overall champion James Tait, Thurso; reserve - Willie Grieve, Cupar; local champion - John Fraser, Ardross; conventional champion - Willie Grieve, Cupar; reserve conventional - Michael Mackay, Castletown; reversible champion - James Tait, Thurso; reserve reversible - Gavin Robertson, Thurso; vintage champion - Michael Mackay, Castletown.
