GALLACHER LOSES HIS DP WORLD TOUR CARD

-

Veteran Scots golfer Stephen Gallacher has lost his DP World Tour card for the 2023 season after missing the cut at the Q School event final in Spain.

Gallacher finished four-under-par with a score of 282 over four rounds at the Lakes Course in Tarragona.

It was only one shot short of what was required for 2014 Ryder Cup winner Gallacher to advance to the final two rounds.

Back-to-back birdies at 15 and 16 looked to revive Gallacher’s hopes, however successive pars to finish meant he was unable to advance further up the leaderboard.

Gallacher had been attempting to retain his tour card for a 27th successive season.

The only two Scots to advance were Craig Howie on eight-under-par, along with Liam Johnston on sixunder-par. Along with Gallacher, Craig Ross (par) and Michael Stewart (four-over-par) also missed out.
