Drivers face A92 delays as works continue

-

Drivers could face disruption on a busy Dundee stretch of the A92 for the rest of the week as work to upgrade the broadband network continues.

Long queues have been forming on Arbroath Road this week, often stretching from the Scott Fyffe Roundabout east towards Broughty Ferry.

The delays have been caused by temporary traffic lights at Kemnay Place, to allow Cityfibre improvements.

Today the lights will move towards Gotterstone Avenue, where they will remain until Saturday.

Motorists have reported delays of 20 minutes added to their normal journey times.

One motorist who was caught up in the traffic on Monday and Tuesday said: “I appreciate work needs to be done but perhaps they should have considered working at night to reduce disruption.”

The lights are in place whilst work is carried out for Cityfibre, which says it is investing £40 million to improve the city’s digital connectivity.

Allan Mcewan, Cityfibre’s area manager for Dundee, said: “We always endeavour to make sure works are delivered quickly.

“We are grateful for the continued support we’ve received from local residents and ask that they continue to bear with us while we deliver these essential works.”
